WIth its decision, the SJC upheld a lower court's decision to dismiss a suit brought by the Masachusetts Association of Automobile Dealers and a few individual dealers against Tesla.
The plaintiffs had argued that by displaying cars in the mall, Tesla was operating, as the SJC summarized the argument it in today's ruling: "an automobile dealership showroom in the Natick Mall without a license and in violation of law which prohibits a manufacturer from owning a dealership."
