Writing for Automation World (http://www.automatinworld.com) magazine, managing digital projects and primarily focusing on the action-intensive world of electric vehicles, I've lost track of the global and U.S. wind power industry trends and installation numbers.

Kind of surprised when I saw a recent interview with Phyllis Cuttino, director of Pew's Clean Energy Program (http://www.pewtrusts.org/en/research-and-analysis/reports/2014/04/03/whos-winning-the-clean-energy-race-2013), on E&E TV (sub. required) and Cuttino mention that wind installations in the U.S were under 1 GW for 2013, via their annual clean energy report. That's compared to 4.4 gigawatts of solar installations in the U.S. in 2013.
