If you are considering the purchase of a plug-in hybrid from Ford, March might be the time to make the move. According to Ford’s corporate website (http://www.ford.com), outgoing 2014 Fusion Energi models can receive about $3,500 in combined manufacturers discounts—and $4,000 on a 2014 C-Max Energi.
These discounts are variably listed as “bonus cash” or “customer rebates.” These incentives are on top of a federal tax credit of $4,007, and California-based rebates of $1,500. In addition, there may be discounts available on lease and financing packages.
Similarly, 2015 models carry Ford discounts, but they are more likely to be $1,000.
The Ford website stipulates that customers must take new retail delivery from dealer stock by March 31, 2015.
While the math on the mixed bag of incentives and discounts can be difficult to decipher, the takeaway is that Ford and its dealers are eager to make deals on plug-in hybrids.
