EV button

When operating in EV mode, the Fusion is down 70 horsepower compared with hybrid mode, but the decrease is masked by the electric motor’s immediately available torque and good accelerator-pedal response, which makes launches from rest feel quick. The Fusion Energi Plug-In can do a full-tilt acceleration run without deciding on its own to switch on the internal-combustion engine. Once you’ve selected the EV mode with a button on the center console, the car will heed your command unless you hold the pedal to the floor and keep it there. Even then, you’ll get a warning query on the gauge display asking you to click “ok” on the steering wheel to start burning hydrocarbons.

Dual LCD next-generation SmartGauge® with EcoGuide

The dual-LCD next-generation SmartGauge® with EcoGuide provides real-time information to help you get the most efficiency from your Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi Plug-In Hybrid. The MyView screen lets you customize screens to your liking. Views such as Brake Coach help you maximize your vehicle’s efficiency. Choices include Inform, Enlighten, Engage or Empower, and explain your options within each. Five-way steering wheel-mounted controls make it all easy. The gauge can indicate instant fuel economy, fuel economy history, odometer, engine coolant temperature, plus trip data including fuel economy, time-elapsed fuel economy and distance to empty. The display grows leaves when you drive efficiently. And they fade when you don’t. The lush green leaves and vines work in any of the four display modes. Energi model shown.
